I was asked recently to participate in a self-denial (Partners in Mission) fundraiser. I’ve been given $5 and are being asked to do something to raise funds. So what to do?

Tomato seeds cost $3.89….

I will be “selling the tomato plants in May at the corps” – let’s see how much I make out of my $5, but if I can get $5 or $10 per plant – and I have 18, I would think that would be a pretty good fundraiser.

Last week we went looking for coleslaw – good coleslaw! It seems that is hard to find, at least here. And cabbage is relatively cheap. So we decided, well Wendy decided to make some. She pulled out a couple of cookbooks – but this one caught my eye. I think she may have had this before we got married.

I know we could just ask Siri, or go to Google, to get a recipe but these books are wonderful and hold so much information. And, I think the coleslaw was delicious!

Today was our AGM at The Villa. As it was up to me to determine the format I did it a bit differently than it has been done from the three others we’ve attended. We had a more collaborative effort with different directors presenting on different topics. I think it went well, but then I planned it!

We are getting closer to the big day when we get a new member of the family. He’s very small yet so the breeder is holding off on adoption day. But we thought we should have some food ready for him and this is what he’s eating now. Apparently, he likes salmon.

We are still not settled on a name, but stay tuned! That’s all for News From The Villa.
