The book of Acts records the early history of The Church from the ascension of Jesus on. It is a book of action, adventure, conflict and suffering. But it is a book that tells how the men and women who followed Jesus found through the power of The Holy Spirit unique courage and strength. There are some interesting summarization comments, but my favourite is from Acts 10:39 “And you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.”
There it is… “Then Jesus went around doing good…”
And how can you and I go about doing good as Jesus did? How can we live our lives in this way? It does mean some inconvience, some setting apart time or money, but I think most of the time, it is just going about doing good.
We see someone struggling and we step up – “can I help?” I don’t think it is that hard.
I do believe that we need to have eyes open, ears open, to hear and see things as God sees them.

In this way, we begin to reflect who Jesus is, and how he wants His people loved and cared for. Be assured this is the way of holiness, humility and service.
