We took a run into Canmore recently. A lovely town. I always enjoy time in this small community nestled between Mount Lady McDonald and Mount Rundle. Near Banff but not in the park, it has its own unique flavour. Plus it has Wendy’s favourite quilt shop!!
Walking along the main drag, we popped into an art shop – what a shopkeeper we met! This guy could have his own late-night talk show – funny, engaging, fast-moving… he talked about the artists, how many paintings he’s shipped to California (half price from California prices said he) and he gave us the biography on many if not all the artists. I think we were exhausted leaving that one shop.
Of course we went to the local candy shop where I finally found my double salted licorice.

Wendy and I also drove up to the top of the hill (side of the mountain) so I could get a good picture of the town of Canmore below and of the frozen lake. The wind was so strong I could hardly stand up. I had to leave my hat in the car or it would have sailed off landing somewhere down below in the town.

For lunch we had a lovely flatbread and soup….oh that was great! Rocky Mountain Flatbread is one of the places we love to go to.

There’s not much snow in the valley right now, but how we enjoy being in the mountains again!
