No insurrection today!

The contrast couldn’t be greater. The week that Congress certifies the election and gives DJT the White House is the week that the country celebrates Jimmy Carter’s life. This sign said it all for me.

January 6 also marks the peaceful transfer of power, something that almost didn’t happen four years ago. Enough of that.

Our own PM finally let the nation know he is resigning the leadership of the Liberal Party, which means he will no longer be the Prime Minister. This has been a long time coming and the timing couldn’t be worse. We won’t have a new government in place now until near the beginning of summer. That’s not a good thing for us when the Trump administration which knows it likely only has two years (the first half of their term) to get things done will be moving quickly out of the gate (if they can get themselves organized).

At home the change here is illustrated below. The Christmas tree is down, the quilt rack is back in place and in about 10 months, we’ll be thinking about pulling out the decorations again. The calendar pages do seem to change quickly.

Last night was a delicious roast beef dinner (with the trimmings) with Amanda and Phil – and as part of our family dinner and the rythmn of the evening includes a story or two with the kids. I noticed a Leaf’s flag on Paige’s wall and had to take a picture of it – just for Terry!
