Celebrating together

T’was two days before Christmas and we, in this house, had all the gifts wrapped except for the mouse!

I just thought I would try my hand at some poetry…

Upstairs right now I can hear Paige and Grandma talking and the occasional laugh from Grandma. Grandchildren, well our grandchildren, often look at us when we laugh. They aren’t sure what is funny but we find such delight and some of their responses and little phrases just bring such joy we can’t help but boil over with joy into a laugh. They are sunshine in our lives.

It is Christmas time – a time for children, and grandparents I think too! Every year we see how our families change, and how the grandchildren grow. Gone our the baby toys, and the gift giving just increases in value to the gift-getting.

Last evening we watched Christmas with The Salvation Army from Roy Thompson Hall. We’ve attended many of these in person and it was again well done – the guest, Jordan Smith was terrific. He was personable, with a great voice, he engaged the audience.

Tonight was also, a bit of a birthday celebration for us here, as tomorrow Phil, Amanda and the kids head to Calgary. And then we head to Ottawa later in the week.

Cabbage rolls, perogies, birthday cake, and lots of fun around the table was the highlight for this birthday boy. The years are adding up! But what a lovely thought to celebrate with family.

So here’s to another trip around the sun!

Have a very merry week with family and friends!
