The Money Tree

This was my office at THQ when I became the Secretary for Program – now the Secretary for Mission. I inherited a plant when I moved in. You can see it on the left by the credenza – known commonly as a money tree. I really liked the tree though it was in trouble when I arrived….and so I began to nurse it back to health.

These plants love lots of filtered light with not too much water. I watered every friday and monday but not too much. In time new shoots began to appear. The plant thrived…

I took it with me when I changed appointments and moved offices over to the Secretary for Business Administration. It was fun to see it continue to grow. Between those two appointments, we were together for seven and a half years.

I took this picture one evening at the office – you can see Wendy’s purse sitting on my desk – clearly she was waiting for me! ( I really liked this room!!)

Since coming to Edmonton I bought a small money tree – clearly I didn’t treat it as well because it shed all it’s leaves and became a brown dry stick.

But last autumn I bought another – at one of the garden stores – and put it near the front window.

It has thrived! After a couple of months it had grown so much I bought a larger pot and moved it so that it would continue to thrive and it has! Today I put it into an even larger pot. IT sure seems to be happy.

repotted for the second time

Now to just wait and let the money grow!! For a past reference to this plant go here.
