Exploring Branson

Branson Missouri is a not a big city – a big town might be a better description, but it sits in the Ozarks and it struck me that it really is like the Muskoka region of Ontario. Lots of hills, rivers, lakes and rocks – lots of rocks. It really is a spectacular area. The town is divided between the old downtown which is near the water and “the strip” which is where all the theatres and most of the restaurants are. Not as tacky as some tourist towns but downtown is one tacky shop – famous for it’s inventory.

This place has everything! I mean everything! Now we didn’t see much that cost a nickel or a dime. However we did get some nice gifts for the family – matching PJ bottoms for Phil and Fitz as an example….no pictures, sorry.

The people in the shop and outside were interesting too and I got one shot of two men sitting outside on a bench.

One of the nice things about going somewhere you’ve never been before is just the fun of exploring. We did other shops along the way including a neighbouring pie shop. I think we could have spent more time in this area if we wanted to…but we had the next event to get to – the Dolly Parton Stampede!
