We in the west did not get the dramatic eclipse experience this week. We have to wait for another 20 years… and so we’ll wait. Not the end of the world – and yes I mean that.
Sunday after supper Fitz and I went over the soccer field near his house. This kid is soccer crazy right now and he’s a load of fun to be with. He loves to compete and when we have a game and we’re competing for the ball he gives no inch! He is in full force and all the time he’s running and doing his best to get control of the ball he is laughing! It is such fun to play with him.

There’s a small hill there and he wanted to run up to the top and kick the ball to me – it looked like a great photo op from my perspective. He’s just a silhouette with the sun behind him and I got a couple of good shots! But below is my favourite.

Yes it appears that winter has lost it’s grip on us and spring is in the air. I brought out the blue chair, made by Philip so many years ago now. And of course that means the obligatory photo sitting in the sun enjoying my coffee. Photographer again this year is Wendy Waters! Thank you.

But the real sign of things changing is my bleeding heart plant – always one of the first through the ground – it has started to emerge. As it gets older this plant gets bigger. It blooms in early June and most flowers are gone by July.
But I love this plant.

Stay tuned for progress on the garden front and this remarkable plant. One last note….Backstage at the Vinyl Cafe has a call out for short and true stories. I’ve submitted mine. Have you submitted yours?
