I’m a regular. I am usually at Costco every week certainly never does two weeks pass that I’m not in the store so I see all the incoming stock, usually look at a few things I think I can’t afford before moving on to get our staples there. A bin of tomatoes, 3 lbs of ripe and juicy tomatoes for $7.99 and we love their cooked chicken, the clamshell of cooked shrimp and recently we tried a new soup – delicious Thai Coconut Chicken Soup!
Of course at this time of year the garden aisle is great. I always pick up the GIANT bag of potting soil for our outdoor pots and I stopped to admire this wind spinner. I passed it by.
But one of the many things which I think Costco does well with is their parking lot. Almost always filled it is an easy place to park and manage your cart in. I especially love that fact that the parknig spaces are wide.

It’s a double line – with lots of space between cars. No need to ding someone’s door here or get yourself squeezed out. Nope, it is an easy place to be. i sometimes wonder about other stores – Superstore, Canadian Tire, and most churches. It’s like someone is just trying to start a fight between drivers. Why else would you ask someone to park in a skinny spot and to squeeze into their vehicle without opening their car door all the way?

…and note too, NO STUPID COIN is required to get a cart! I mean really, putting a $1 coin into a small slot is going to deter someone who wants to steal the cart? What do you think these things cost to build? $100? More? So what is with stores requiring you to put a coin in the handle?
Costco has it right – give people room to park, and make getting the merchandise into the cart and out to the car easy!
And who in the world carries coins anymore? Thank you Costco! Could you have a talk with some of the other retailers?
