A return to St. Albert

It’s been a long time since I have been to The Salvation Army in St. Albert Alberta. St. Albert is a growing city on the edge of the northwest corner of Edmonton. The Army is well-liked by the community and there’s a strong support for our work there.

Saturday was a day of recognition for their volunteers and I went to support them, bring greetings on behalf of the division, and show some support.

It was great to see some of the folks that I’ve known in the past and there were some great conversations.

There were about 120 people in attendance and one of the local restaurants provided the food at no charge – great pasta and salads.

I popped into Home Depot before going to the corps and one of the ladies working there saw my coat and asked which Salvation Army I was from – turns out she was the kettle coordinator! A great personality!

The food was good and I thoroughly enjoyed the well organized, well executed event.
