News from The Villa

Well, two deaths and therefore two sales of property in our little community. Yes, life moves on!

Here’s the thing about being in such a community (and we all live in a community) is you can’t help but see and hear the cycle of life in all its facets. There is joy – one of our neighbours was all excited because their daughter won a multi-million dollar house in a lottery, and the sadness of seeing a neighbour die and suddenly disappear from the community.

In other news…. here’s a great deserrt and not TOO many calories either! Not too sweet, easy to keep in the freezer, not too expensive…and they are delicious. I’m no influencer for Weston Foods but this is a good product as far as I’m concerned.

And what has happened to winter? The gauge on the van hit a temperature of 12C again today – that’s twice this week – in Edmonton – in winter – in the heart of winter. Our snow is for the most part gone and this will not bode well for fire fighters this summer nor for our water supply. Yet, it was rather nice to be outside standing in the sunshine feeling warm without a coat!

And this end of the kitchen – our dining area is now under redevelopment as Phil brings his many talents to bear once again! This was Monday… as he began to cut drywall and get us ready for the installation of our cupboards. This is going to look so wonderful! And it will be so practical.
