Pray for Russia

The war in Ukraine grinds on through the bitter winter with a threat of USA funding being held the sustainability of Ukraine’s war is certainly in doubt. Canada’s pledge of equipment is now a year old and yet to be delivered. It’s a troublesome time for that part of the world.

This morning I was reminded of the other side of the war as TSA’s personnel are still in Russia, somewhat cut off from much of the world, funding them is almost impossible I am sure. Today came a request to pray for the Russia command:

Lieut-Colonel Alexander Kharkov – Territorial Commander
Major Inna Khurina – Territorial President of Women’s Ministries
Major Svetlana Sharova – Chief Secretary

And what do they wish us to pray for?

Physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of our officers and soldiers. Wisdom in finding a way forward to continue the mission of The Salvation Army in Russia. New ways of reaching out to people. New ways of self-support and sustainability.

If you wish to see more go to The Salvation Army Russia website, and look under about us/history. And pray for the people of Russia!
