When Philip and Jason were in their teens we decided, well Wendy had foresight to suggest, that we should begin to get the boys some things that they would need when they were able to move out on their own. So one Christmas we bought them several things for the kitchen – measuring cups, kitchen utensils, pots, and mixing bowls.

Now they took this well considering they may have been expecting more teenager-like gifts but then came the opening of the final box. Phil was not happy about the possibility of getting MIXING BOWLS as a Christmas present… here’s part of the video I took that Christmas morning.

We did have mixing bowls put away for him…but not to be given at this moment. The earlier part of the video sees him not wanting to open the package and then finally tearing just a bit of a corner until he thinks it is safe to proceed!

Fast forward to 2023 and Phil was at our house and noticed sitting on the counter a new set of mixing bowls… after he left I noticed he had written on the packaging.
