Now that’s a gift

There are gifts that we receive that are great – we love it, we enjoy using it or it takes a special place in our home. Maybe we use it every day or often and as we do we remember the kindness or thoughtfulness of the giver. But then there are those gifts that not only create a current value but stir a sentiment within us that is extra special.

That’s what I thought when I saw what Terry had bought Catherine for Christmas. It’s a picture of Cath with Dad! And they are embracing in such a wonderful daughter/dad way! I imagine that Cath can still feel the hug and hear the conversation.

I think we each have a picture that is like this.

Here’s one of the photos that stirs a memory in me. My Dad and his two siblings, half-brother, and half-sister, at Chuck and Ida’s house in Guelph. There are so many stories in this picture – so many relationships that are represented by those faces.

Terry did a great thing by having a puzzle, which Catherine loves doing, made from an important picture.
