The Floor!

I am not a handyman. I am certainly not a carpenter. Yet Philip has been working to teach me a few skills and give me some projects to work on. The latest has been to remove the tiles in our kitchen and the underlying 3/4 inch plywood. The tiles came up relatively easy.

You probably never have had this experience, and what surprised me was the number of screws that were holding down the plywood under the tiles. I would estimate somewhere around 150 or 160 tiles – and they weigh quite a bit!

So with the tools supplied and the lesson in finding the screws – remember you can’t always see them because of the grout on top of the plywood to hold on the tiles – I went to work.

Well Saturday evening the process was finally completed, and now, yes it is time for the new subfloor and vinyl flooring.

Another step forward in the renovation of our lovely home and YES Philip is amazing! He has worked so hard on this and given so much of himself and his time, and of course, that means Amanda and the kids have given up their claim on him too. What a project this has been!
