I was asked recently for some recommendations for a reading list. So I am putting together what I’m reading currently.
Here they are:
- The Food Explorer by Daniel Stone
- Tempered Resilience – Todd Bolsinger
- Leading with a Limp – Dan Alexander
- Wholehearted Faith – Rachel Held Evans
- Sabbath – Wayne Muller
- The Old Farmer’s Almanac 2022
- My Bible
So why these books? Well, four have been gifts lately and I’m enjoying them. I was happy to get Tempered Resilience as the author wrote Canoeing the Mountains which I really enjoyed. Rachel Held Evans who passed away before this book was completed is a voice that gained great popularity as she articulated voiced what many felt about their experience of the church. Leading with a limp I’ve had for a while and have heard nothing buy great things so looking forward to it. The Food Explorer I’m currently reading and it is a very different book for me but I’m enjoying the story of how some of our favourite foods came to North America and apart of our diet. Fascinating. Sabbath was the most recent gift and I’ve got it on the list for later. And of course my Bible. I bought this one some time ago with the intent of moving notes and comments from my old Bible to this one. I have some of it done, but looking forward to further work in the months to come.
What are you reading? What do you recommend and why?
