Alberta – the dry land

Now we really are into autumn and the evidence of changing seasons is all around us. The photo above doesn’t really give evidence of it, but the ground is so incredibly dry that sustained on this tree yesterday I got wondering about our water supply and how in the future – even the coming spring will we have enough snow over the winter to keep our streams and rivers flowing.

Near our house is a small wooded lot – quite dense and quite a variety of trees in it. I took my camera and headed over the day and below are a few pictures from that walk.

I’ve always loved my camera and I’ve had several over 50 years – and going out into the woods is always a wonderful way to spend time. I doubt that National Geographic is going to ask me to be one of their pros, but I enjoy every minute in the woods with my camera.

Today is a day of meetings – on line – on the screen for many hours so I will look forward to getting back out again.

God bless you and your family.
