For many years I heard about Northern BC and the work of The Salvation Army in this remote part of the country. In 2015 I had the chance to visit a number of communities. To say that the landscape is amazing is an understatement. The land is immense – that is to say, the scale of the land is deceiving. At first, you don’t realize how tall are the hills and deep the gorges.
But what was especially amazing was experiencing the culture. The indigenous people of this land have lived for thousands of years and do live in harmony with it. The totem poles, the songs, the language, the food all reflect the land and the people.
I took Craig with me on this journey and so you’ll see him in some of the pictures. We flew in and out of Smither’s BC.
