Some time ago Wendy and I spent a weekend with Philip and Amanda in Canmore.  On the Saturday, the gals went off to do…well Gal stuff…and Phil and I headed to “the shop” to build a TV stand.  There’s a bit of a story behind the project.  In High School Phil built me some shelves for books – they ended up being very deep and we had decided we should change the shelving our books were on.  I asked Phil if he wanted the book case…he wanted the wood.

He took the shelves apart and took them back to Canmore.  On top of that he had picked up some driftwood while on vacation in Salmon Arm during the summer.  He then bought …what I think was walnut and put the three different woods together to build himself a new TV stand.

Here’s the video of the day – and the construction of the stand.  We started Saturday morning and by supper time it was sitting in the livingroom!
