It’s been a long time since our wireless router was bought.  In fact you might say we’ve paid attention to upgrading our computers without much thought as to our connection to the internet.  As we were at Costco recently I thought I would look at a new router.  They had the TRENDnet at a good price…so I picked it up and looking at the installation it said, and I quote, “Installation as easy as 1-2-3”.  Obviously my math skills aren’t that good because getting from 1 to 3 seems to be fraught with problems!

“Get the pin number from the bottom of the router”, it instructs…  “it will be 4 or 8 numbers”.  Ahhh….there is no pin number on the bottom….and so I reactivated the old router so I could go to the Trendnet website to get tech support.  OK – so after reading and trying to decipher the thread in the “trouble shooting” area I am ready to put this through the paper shredder.  Easy as 1-2-3?  I think not.

I’ll get it installed but probably only after I call the tech support line.

So if you are off to upgrade your router – don’t be fooled by 1-2-3.  It is not that easy!
