Signs of Spring

The Canada Geese are arriving back as they migrate north. The Snow Geese are behind them, just a week or so by all reports, and we will soon also hear the Trumpeter Swans flying overhead, though they fly very high. Signs of spring.

Today was the AGM for our condo corporation. A sign of spring. Did you know the legislation says that only 15% of the owners need to be present to have a quorum? Weird. But at any rate, we had over 70% in attendance and two proxy votes.

The board dissolved, and 15 minutes later, we were welcomed back – same pay as last year – $0!

I’ve enjoyed leading this group, and I was pleased today as we walked through some of the difficult things the board will face in the coming year. We got some good feedback, I think.

And speaking of our community…

Our newest neighbour is doing renovations, and the drywall arrived today. We had snow last night, but the sun is so warm now that as the day wore on, it melted quickly. Lovely to see folks investing in their property. As they do it raises the value of the homes and with it our value! Because one day we will cash in on it’s value…and maybe the value will move to our kids, maybe….if they’re IN the will!!

LOL

Of course they are.

Here’s Chris displaying a 1903 double bell baritone…weird eh? They don’t make these any more but he played a bit for us at the event at the corps on Saturday. He’s a remarkable musician.

And if you’ve never seen or heard this before, now you have!
