An agreement with the United States of America, when George W.H. Bush was president, brought about a project between the USA and Canada, specifically the State of Michigan, to construct a new bridge from Windsor, Ontario, to Detroit, Michigan. That bridge is almost completed.

Today DJT, the convicted felon of Pennsylvania Avenue once again decided to aim his mistruths and hatred towards Canada. To quote the former USA ambassador to Canada, the president is misinformed, and unlike his first term is surrounded by incompetence.

DJT incorrectly claimed that Canada would have to repay the USA for the cost of the bridge – the Canadian government paid for the bridge, not the USA. He also claimed that USA steel was not used in the construction of the bridge – also not correct. Both countries contributed steel to the project.

This is just more of the same. Misinformation, rants, hatred, verbal attacks, a lack of understanding of what is reality, a propensity to lie, and lie and lie. Even Steve Bannon acknowledges that DJT cannot tell the truth.

The Gordie Howe bridge, named after the famous Detroit Red Wings player, who was born in Saskatchewan, is nearing completion and, according to the Governor of Michigan will open on schedule despite the idle threats of DJT.

The ongoing efforts of DJT to divide his people and destroy the relationships that America has around the world continue. It is sad to see, but as our former Prime Minister recently said “we are witnessing the decline of the American empire”. Yes indeed.
