It’s the last day of January and it is 7 degrees and sunny. Water is running everywhere and the roads are so wet that the glare from the sun is “blinding”. Nugget loves these repreives from the freezing cold we had for such a long time, not that winter is over but it sure feels terrific outside.
It feels like spring at the moment.

Of course it isn’t but it will soon be time to think about whether we are doing seeds again this year. With Nugget’s pen in the kitchen and having to move some of our house plants I’m feeling a little more crowded on the indoor green house front. But we’ll work that out.
Found this fabric the other day when Wendy was a Sugar Pine.

This is actually from Harry Potter fabric, but it is a line spoken by Lord Voldemort in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1. I saw it and thought of the Prime Minister’s address at the World Economic Forum.
We’re getting close to the time to renegotiate the free trade deal set in place during Trump 1.0. Though signed by Trump last time he was in office, he now believes it was a bad deal, which could be true considering how many bad deals he has made as a businessman. And as we get ready to sit at the table, there is no indication that anything the USA might agree to could be trusted. Despite having a trade deal currently, Trump has placed tariff after tariff on Canadian products. So what is to make us believe that anything agreed upon will be acted upon.
No time to turn our efforts to the markets of Europe (750 million), India (1 billion),China, or a host of other smaller countries. And then there’s the emerging markets of Africa, which could yet turn out to be the next power continent.
WE have been too complacent and had basically one customer, not a model any business would aim for!
When I saw the fabric and that quote I thought of our current world.

Interesting how writers of fiction often speak into the real world and give us lines that are true and memorable.
