Art, the objects, not the person.
In our most recent trip to Banff we picked up a new piece of artwork. Note to Philip: in the event of our demise, I would not throw this out… I digress!
It’s a Jim Shore snowman, not the very bright colours he is known for, but the more subtle colours. We loved it as soon as we saw it. It’s now on the wall with the mountain scape we picked up for our 25th anniversary. It too is a bit of a one of a kind piece of art, made from clay and then glazed. The local Banff artist is known for this kind of work.

More artwork – this is on the wall at the Burger Priest on York Mills Road in Toronto. Recognize the text from the Bible, the book of Proverbs. Artwork – and lovely. It really caught my attention. Oh, and the burger was delicious!
This artwork was done by Major (Dr) Jim Watt on an afternoon at the leaders’ retreat in Kananaskis hangs in the office of Major Elaine Bridger. Jim is a medical doctor and retired Salvation Army officer. He is a remarkable artist and his art of Africa where he and his wife Betty served for many many years is stunning.

On the back of this it says….

And finally, as I was walking the halls of TSA’s Edmonton Centre of Hope I noticed many pieces of inspiring art. I don’t think I have given enough thought to the power of art. What are your thoughts?
