What’s your #1 priority?
I get up each morning, and the routine is this – a quick visit to the bathroom (you probably didn’t need to know that), on with some pants, shoes, sweater, and out for a walk with Nugget. He has his priority too. It could be close to what I did first…if you know what I mean!
Back to the house, sooner in some weather, and to the kitchen. Time to start breakfast and for Wendy, tea, for me, coffee.
But those aren’t priorities – not what I mean. What is your priority? Phil has a large whiteboard by his desk, and what he has written on it, I think, is brilliant. In large print are some of his goals and priorities. A constant reminder as to what he wants life to be about.
My number one priority is my family. No doubt, but there’s more to it. High in priority is keeping my mind active and engaged – for my mental health. And keeping myself somewhat active physically, thus the dog walks, and playing with the kids. I want to be active in our neighbourhood – to be salt and light. So being out and being in conversation with these folks is important. And frankly, Nugget helps that happen too.
Then there are goals of being aware of our budget and living within it. The goal of planning things to do we enjoy in a week. The goal of staying in touch and loving our family. The goal of being healthy and engaged is the best way to describe my overall sense of living.

The point of thinking about this is, of course, to consider our day as having purpose. We need purpose in our days and having some objectives makes the difference.
So what’s your priority for tomorrow?
