East of Edmonton

Remember the song, “back in the saddle again….”. No, eh. Yeah, that’s an old song and Roy Rogers sang it when I was a kid. But it did ring through my head this past week as we were “back in the trailer again”.

Thank you Philip for all the work you have done to the trailer to extend it’s life and improve our experience in it. You are a wildly talented man. (Where does he get those great genes from?) He’s a lot like me you say? Not in this way.

We were looking at a website called east of Edmonton, and Wendy pointed out all the small towns and campgrounds east of Edmonton. So we decided we would try some of them. Venture one was to Double Dam – a golf course/RV park. So first of all -this was almost all adults. No it was all adults. Very quiet campground and some huge RVs sitting in the 48 sites. They had a kitchen/patio with a terrific menu, and we ate three meals there! Delicious!

Nugget decided to interupt our sleep the second night and I stepped out into the darkness to witness the incredible rural mural of stars! What a sight!

This isn’t my favourite campground – in fact, as Philip rightly observed, it represents almost everything I don’t like in a campground. However, as we had decided to try several small campgrounds, this was the first try. There will be others.
