Carlyle slept over last Friday night, and so on Saturday morning, I asked her if she would like to come with me as I was going to get groceries. As we went around the grocery store I had my list on my phone and she was pushing the cart – she asked to do so! Part way around the store she said to me, “when I grow up and have my own place I am going to do groceries how my Dad does groceries“.

“How is that?” I inquired, knowing full well what she meant.

“He has a detailed list in order of how the store is laid out so that you don’t ever have to retrace your steps”.

Yes indeed, he does have a list and he is well organized.

Also nearby was a house fire. We could see the black smoke billowing up from the deck of our house. I couldn’t but help think of the family who lived there, what was lost and how difficult it will be for them as they navigate insurance, contractors, relocation and a host of related issues.

In other news, not so local, The Late Show has been cancelled by CBS. Strangely enough, he just had pointed out that CBS had agreed to pay DJT $16M. Yup – millions. And Colbert pointed out that Paramount had rolled over under pressure from the Donald. That lawsuit came about because DJT didn’t like the way CBS had edited an interview with Camelia Harris. It was considered frivolous. Yet they paid out. But there was a reason – an $8B merger. Yup billions. And of course once again it proved to underscore the corruption in the White House.

I remember when CBS cancelled The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour – a long time ago, but they were cancelled because they were making political comments. Here we are again.

Oh and by the way – it’s called The Gulf of Mexico!
