News from The Villa

on

Wendy and I went for a walk around our little neighbourhood today. It is, by the way, a beautiful sunny day at 10 degrees. As we walked I noted that we’ve had 7 new owners in our Villa since we took possession just 3 years ago. Even as the walked one of the units was under renovation. We suspect that it’s been flipped as it went for a very low price. You can’t buy a garage in Vancouver for what this place sold for!

Change seems to be ever present.

Speaking of change, are the tariffs on or off? DJT can’t seem to make up his mind, but Canada isn’t changing its posture. So Ontario is about to implement a 25% tariff on electricity which powers Michigan, Ohio, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. So once again what DJT says and what he does are not consistent. Prices are going up.

Should I tell you that I paid $4 for a dozen eggs today? And that’s expensive here.

Trump 2.0 maybe isn’t that much of a change from Trump 1.0.

More change, I bought a new bird seed for our feeder. I’ve really been enjoying watching the birds come and go -northern flickers, common house wrens, chickadees and the like. But I put a new seed into the feeder this morning. Apparently the birds are trying to tell me something.

This afternoon I looked and the feeder was almost empty – Wendy told me that the birds were flicking the seed out of the feeder!

One of my favourite shots from Yellowknife

Speaking of birds….my last photo is just a great shot of the birds flying over Yellowknife!
