It’s been a cold week! Minus 30 overnight, lots of snow, and my goodness, suddenly, we have lots of snow on the ground. I haven’t done an update on our neighbourhood for a while, and so I thought I should acknowledge that we’ve lost Bud and Sylvia recently. As I was thinking about this year’s AGM which I will lead, that we should acknowledge that we’ve lost some good neighbours this year. One of the things we love about our community is how people care, look out for, and get into other people’s business. I mean that in the best way.
The AGM’s have been, that is the three that I have attended, pretty rudimentary. Our “employee” from the management company has run these for the most part sitting beside the president and it has been quite informal and it appeared not planned…”do you want to talk to this or shall I?” were the kinds of questions raised. At any rate that was them, this is me.
This isn’t really news, but we have lots of snow. I mean lots. Last year we had so very little…but this year the snow pack seems pretty substantial for this side of the Rockies. Winter on the prairies is usually sunny, but we’ve had an unusually cloudy few weeks with all the snow.

Closer to home…it was that time again. Five years is up and so it was time to drink “the solution” and get to the hospital to get my picture taken. This time I woke up near the end of the procedure and I could see the big colour screen and the inside of ME. Weird. By the way – my gastroenterologist is also a stand up comedian. He was really funny for the few moments I saw him before I had a little nap. I love those naps. Zzzzzzzzzzzz…..

Inside our part of The Villa there the plants are thriving. I’ve been giving them a regular feeding with fertilizer and watching they don’t get over-watered. They love our bay window at the front of the house and thrive there! The more light we have inside from the outdoors the better – so when our skylight (and I love that Philip thought of painting the shaft walls blue) is covered with snow I am tempted to go up on the roof and clean it off – don’t worry I won’t!
Lastly – Bud’s place went up for salle and was gone in just few days – certainly less than a week. So we assume sometime soon we’ll have new neighbours. That will be good, but we will miss Bud.
