The apples, some not all, are picked and applesauce is in the freezer! Our apples are sweet and average size – they were a bit later ripening this year. It takes quite a bit of work to get these but it is sure delicious!

Much of the garden is producing it’s fruit as I blogged before. We still have a few weeks of good weather for the plants that can handle cooler nights. Those will come as we get into September.
Last night, we had an extra-loud thunderstorm roll over us. It was short-lived, but it dropped a great deal of rain on us. We both went to the front door to watch. There’s something about watching storms I have always loved. I remember as a kid going out onto the screened-in porch at the cottage to watch the thunderstorms roll over the lake. I was not frightened – more fascinated by them.
Nature is amazing, or, to put it another way, God’s creation is fascinating. From the design and evidence of the garden’s reproduction to the essence of wind and rain bringing what we all need for life to the earth, and the wonderful way in which the rain feeds the rivers, which feed the lakes and oceans, only to have all that moisture return to the clouds to keep the cycle going.
Breezes
In that rapturous moment
My mind is arrested by beauty
In the sky, clouds scuttle wind driven;
In the trees, leaves flutter breeze activated;
And on the ground, flowers wave current moved.
But my soul
Through eyes and seses
Sees and feels a unity;
A gift of greatness –
A creation initiated by the Almighty.
