Every spring and summer convertibles come up for sale. Lots of them! Many people own one and drive it only in the warmer months. After all, this is Edmonton. And if you only drive it a few months the insurance costs are low.
I’ve been out looking again for a possible car for us….for me I suppose is closer to the truth. My head says that I should look for a Mazda, like the Miata (MX5) or if I had the cash maybe a VW EOS. I would like an MG…an MGB or a Triumph. I’ve looked a several online and a few in person. My favourite place to look is Brits Bits…near Edmonton Temple they specialize in European vehicles. And they often have MG’s around.
On Friday I stopped by and discovered this lovely 1976 MGB.

It has been totally restored – body work and interior even a new top. Ken, the owner told me that they owner can no longer drive it but 5 years ago put some $20K into it and it has been sitting in the garage for much of the past 5 years. I took a very close look to see if they are any body or interior issues. I asked Ken if it had good compression – he says he hasn’t checked it but would if I was going to buy it! Hmmmmm
The price is good and is negotiable.
What do you think?
