We have stayed in Kearney before, just on the edge of Kansas City, it is a hub for hotels, restaurants and shopping nearby in Liberty, but the hotel prices are just a bit kinder. We stayed in a lovely hotel though not as nice as Branson and the Lodge of the Ozarks!

Kearney is famous for it’s association with the James family – yes the outlaws, Frank and Jesse… and Jesse is buried here, about a mile to the east of the hotel. Of course we stopped by as we had before but of course Stan and Debi had not been here. Shocking I know!

It isn’t just Jesse who is there but others associated with him…

For some reason, and maybe you can shed some light on this, someone left some money and a bullet on his grave marker. Does that mean something or did someone just empty a pocket here?
