Dolly Parton Stampede

When we were planning our trip to Missouri we talked about what shows or plays we might attend. The Dolly Parton Stampede caught our attention because, well… it has Dolly Parton’s name attached to it. Let me share my recent letter to Dolly.

Dear Dolly, you should go watch this show then decided if you want your name attached. I think you might change your mind. You’re welcome. – Fred

Here’s how it goes… you can walk by the horses in their stables and then you go through their gift shop and buy “stuff”, then into the saloon area where you can buy food and drinks… are you picking up a theme – remember we bought tickets! In the saloon area was a small stage and here is where the evening was saved. Three brothers did a great show while people bought more food and drinks!

After about 45 minutes we were ushered, through one small door, into the arena – there were about 700 of us. Once seated around the theatre they dropped a whole chicken (we each got a fork) and then potatoes, pulled pork and half a corn on the cob that had clearly been cooked for a week in hot water. YUM!

I thought that maybe You Tube would flag this video for copyright but it has not – so here is a short sample of the three brothers who saved the evening!

So be warned, go to the zip line or go see The Petersons!
