There is a special joy in watching the seeds germinate and pop through the ground. It doesn’t take long for the green leaves to appear and for the plants to reach towards the grow light. Above my Big Mama tomatoes are well under way. I might have too many!

I’m very excited about these little plants that appeared just today. I only planted them yesterday, but had, as instructed on the seed packet, soaked it in warm water for 24 hours. Clearly that made the difference. This is Malva. Not a plant that I was familiar with when I found the seed pack. Here’s what it looks like when it is in bloom.

I find it amazing that these little seeds turn into this! But that’s the remarkable magic of seeds!
