Wendy and I loved our trailers and our camping days! As you may know, the luxury features of these have simply gotten more and more incredible. Forget just heat or hot running water, we’re talking ceiling fans, fireplaces, big screen TV’s, big lounges, lofts, double door fridge/freezers, surround sound systems, outdoor speakers, automated awnings…and the list goes on.
Today we went to the Edmonton RV show. The prices seemed really high compared to what was…but what is offered is quite different. Wood is gone, and aluminum and composite materials mean no water damage. One trailer we sat in had a reclining lounge with heated seats and cooled drink holders. Solar panels are almost standard now so off-grid camping is very possible and you still have lights, heat, hot water, etc.

We looked at a few retro styled trailers. I loved this one – the body is entirely molded fiberglass but is very expensive at $46K.

They had a 1969 Airstream that had been remodled and it was lovely inside!

I’m not sure how many steps we took today but it was really fun to just look. Was I tempted to buy – of course – I love the idea of a trailer and having it behind the vehicle bombing down the highway to some lovely spot with big trees, blue sky and a lovely pool or lake.
