2 suggestions, maybe 3

I don’t often make recommendations about what I watch or listen to. I suppose hundreds are awaiting my wisdom, my good taste. Right? (Crickets)

However, let me take a chance and tell you about two items.

The first is a podcast. I listen to many podcasts and I like humour (The Debaters, Backstage at the Vinyle Cafe…) I like some political podcasts, (60 Minutes, Rosemary Barton) and I like Old Radio (Dragnet, Gunsmoke…) but I was recently pointed to Good Faith.

Now many of you likely have been listening to this for a bit. Sorry to be late catching up. May I say, this is excellent. Both the production and the quality of the content. Not just based on opinion – I can get that at Tim Horton’s, but based on studies, content experts, and some solid journalism.

I don’t know what you use as your platform for podcasts but look this up. This episode was really good as it asks the question “Will Western culture hunger for God more than we realize?” The historical review of the role of Christianity in our world is insightful and helpful for most people.

That’s my first recommendation.

Second up, a lovely movie based on a book. It’s set in Australia and deals with the women who work in a department store and follows in particular three women’s lives. It is thoughtful, and delightful and I found it very moving. I recommend it and it is on Netflix.

Julia Ormond has a starring role and plays a Hungarian woman living and working in Australia. I would also recommend you look up her story – a disturbing story, again, of attractive women trying to work in this industry.

So perhaps it is three recommendations. The podcast, the movie, and some research.
