We don’t have too much snow yet this winter, but MAN IS IT COLD! But, of course it’s a dry cold.
Today’s blog is just a catch up on a few matters…

It is so cold that the moisture is falling out of the sky as fog and settling on everything giving things a frosty appearance. But of course, I am not spending a great deal of time outside. But I did make a trip to Tim Horton’s. Now I’ve been critical and disappointed with this-use-to-be-Canadian restaurant. They dropped so many of my favourite things and the service declined steadily for years. It was minus 47 at the airport last night… we were about minus 37 here.

With the announcement from Tim Horton’s that they were bringing back some “retro” donuts, specifically for me, the Dutchie. This was my go-to donut, this was my favourite. I love raisins! And this is a great marriage of donut and raisins.
Marry that with a dark roast coffee with brown sugar cubes and 18% cream and mmmmmmm….

It was wonderful to have Philip come and get the handles on our new kitchen cupboards. With the flooring in it is really looking terrific!

Finally, in returning work I have now a new office – not nearly as large as my one at THQ but it is more than adequate and most weeks I am only in one day a week. But what has been interesting is to see how the new offices have been decorated. This has been tastefully done with creativity.
Two walls in particular are eye catching. The first is referred to as the living wall – plants! The second is a series of old long playing albums. For those born in the world of CDs or later, these were all the rage and were really the only option to listen to recorded music. I know vinyl has had a resurgance but these were a fraction of the cost of the current vinyl world.

Lastly, one of the units near us is up for sale. It’s on the market for $230K – needs updating and the basement is unfinished, though I note they advertise it as “unrealized potential”. It has the feel that ours did before Philip made it fantastic.

And with an asking price of $230K you know in this climate it will sell for less, or that’s my thought. So now we wait and see and this will be watched by all who own here!!
