The ferry

I was in BC last week – the moderate temperatures, ocean, mountains, and ferries are a great contrast to Edmonton. I enjoyed being there, though truth be told, I am always happy to get home to our lovely house and back to Wendy!

From the airport, I had to take a train to catch a bus to get to the ferry terminal. I find the ferry systems interesting! The vast network of boats, bays, docks, and inventory of vehicles travelling is vast. As we docked at Langdon, right by The Army’s Camp Sunrise, I thought it would be interesting to record our docking from the level where I was standing, ready to walk off. There were lots of vehicles waiting to exit too!

I took another smaller boat over to Keats Island from Landon – a cool but clear day made the travel easy. These boats are amazing, with strong diesel engines, enclosed cabins with radar etc. They are not your Grandma’s pleasure boat. Out here they are necessary for life.

Just getting to my destination was an enjoyable and unique (for an Edmontonian) experience.

Yes Catherine (who else calls you that?) it would be lovely if we could all live here…but can you afford it? Me thinks not. Neither could we.
