Yesterday was coffee time at the clubhouse. It is the common place of meeting for the Villa. Now when I say Villa don’t you be thinking The Village in Florida. Oh, no. We’re a small but friendly group.

In yesterday’s gathering the talk was mostly of Villa activities. We’ve had several new buyers arrive and one is renovating the house in order to sell it. He’s opened up the floor plan and a couple of people have seen it and really like it.

Everyone is now aware that if they have the old water lines they are putting their house at risk for a bit of a flood – which is partly why the previously mentioned house is being renovated! It all started with a water leak. New owners are changing out the water lines and putting new water heaters in.

Further, with climate change now clearly in Edmonton people are buying AC units like crazy! No one is enjoying the heat without AC and many of them have unfinished basements so they cannot retreat there in the heat.

Lorraine arrived and declared that from her perspective, there are more lunatics out there than normal people. We had a good laugh and I suggested to her we may have our own lunatics in the room so don’t look anyone in the eye! Again, more laughter.

We are really enjoying our neighbours and the price of housing is remaining relatively low for now. More and more people are selling in other parts of the country and finding their way here where they can bank some of that cash for retirement days!
