On the waterfront

on

Well, here we are. In the hotel for Inspire, and ready to change appointments. For those who ask and yes people are still asking – no, we aren’t taking on new responsibilities, we are simply taking four weeks vacation and beginning retirement. Now, I will admit I’ve got more than a few approaches on possible work after the summer, and I may consider some work – maybe!

Right now we have the conference week, and then Congress.

Yesterday we headed to the conference hotel and enjoyed being near the waterfront. I don’t think I appreciated how busy the Toronto harbour is. The number of boats of all sizes moving around the water is amazing.

Cities are always defined by the large geographical features around them. In Ottawa it was the river, and the valley for that matter. In Calgary the river and the nearby mountains. In Toronto it’s the Great Lakes.

We had a great supper last night – and then enjoyed a good night’s sleep. This is hotel 5 since leaving Edmonton. Have I mentioned that I will be happy to see the end of staying in hotels? I want to wake up next Wendy in our bed – in our home!

I’m looking forward to the week and to seeing many people from across the territory (Canada and Bermuda) that we have known down through the years. We are a blessed people.
