It is notoriously dry in Edmonton. Last summer we went about six weeks without rain, so when the snowpack is light or we get an early thaw, which happened this year, by now the ground is very dry. June of 2022 saw a record amount of rain for the month – which would likely be a normal amount for Ontario which we are so familiar with.

This afternoon at break time, I stepped out onto the back deck with a coffee and a butter tart! (Mmmmmmmmm) There are some very dark clouds approaching and even as I was enjoying said butter tart a giant clap of thunder rolled across the sky!

Let’s hope we get some rain. I mean rain – not the 15 minutes like yesterday but rain, barrels of it.
