This is my second journey to this area of BC. In many ways it reminds me of parts of Alberta and this time of year the yellow leaves really do remind me of the foothills and the great stretches of alpine trees in their brilliant autumn dress.
We visited the Ksan village and had a presentation from the world famous Ksan dancers, though they were fewer in number and a bit subdued as someone in the village had died. If you know anything of their culture you will know that the death of an elder is held in high regard. Everything stops for a week while the people gather to eat and mourn and comfort one another.
The gathering at Camp Mountainview was moving as we did the blanket exercise and then had two talking circles. My goodness that is moving. Unimaginable how horrible we europeans have been.
These times will always be treasured in my memory.
