You never know who you’ll meet on a plane

So my educational journey begins. Okay, I’ll admit it I’m apprehensive. Maybe even terrified. You know the last time I sat in a classroom?!

I’ll be okay…I suppose.

Yesterday on my flight here I had an interesting experience. I was sitting, quite comfortably near the front of the plane, in one of my favourite (there’s that word again) seats when the flight attendant asked if someone would sit at the back to balance the load.  I offered and they thanked me and took me to the very last row of the plane.  I am apparently heavier than I look.

I was seated next to a lady dressed entirely in black and who turned out to be quite inquisitive about The Salvation Army and a skilled conversationalist.  I discovered she is a creative designer for television, film and stage. She is described by the Toronto Star as “renowned”. Her name is Debra Hanson. She was raised by her father, who served in WW2 to respect and admire TSA and she had a number of questions about charity, donations, life in the service to others and she was very interested to learn we had churches.

She is obviously well into her career and has a long list of achievements on imbd.com. I found this short You Tube video about some of her work at Stratford !

You never know who’ll you will meet on a plane.
