After 3 weeks of resting, I can clearly and emphatically say, my batteries are recharged!  

And what vacation is complete without a good book to read?

I thoroughly enjoyed reading through Team of Rivals. What a great read and fascinating historical and political details. It was also a good read for those wishing to learn something of the genius of Abraham Lincoln and manner of his leadership.

Remember that he came into office as the union of states was breaking up – and in fact was the result of his election.  He also lost great leaders to the south.  Lincoln offered the leadership of the union army to Lee prior to Lee’s resigning his commission and going to his home state of Virginia.

The patience and humour of Lincoln shine through and I found my admiration of this man growing as I read through what is a very long book.  The paper copy, which I bought first, is 770 pages.  The weight, and difficulty of carrying it around as I traveled caused me after 100 pages to buy the ebook version.

By the way as a means of comment on the ebook trade – there were a good many errors in the digital version!

At any rate a wonderful book which I recommend to you highly.
