Today is the day…the curtain has been pulled back and the annual move list for officers is revealed. You can go here to get it.
My involvement in the process is different these days. I don’t sit at “the table” as the moves are discussed but rather I am approached by different leaders for different reasons to provide an opinion, such as “will this officer match this appointment, can this officer manage more responsibility, what do I know about this or that”…and then like most people in our system I sit back and wait to see what will become of all the conversations.
Of course Wendy and I have been on the receiving end of an appointment change many times. Last year was the very first time I received an appointment when Wendy did not. Of course what was nice was I joined her in the Corps Ministries Department! This has been a very busy and active year and I can hardly believe that a year has gone. But then as I get older time does seem to pass more quickly.
As a leader change is constant, and the task of a leader is to manage change. So here’s a few helpful tips for you if you are one of those leaders under going a change of appointment.
