This is presumed to be William Shakespeare’s birthday though the date of his birth was not recorded only his baptism.  But the world goes on to celebrate today his birth.  He was married at 18 to Anne Hathaway (no not that Hathaway) who was 26 at the time.  William was only 18.

William died on April 23 as well – so we recognize his birth and death today.
