From my earliest memories my Nanny Eastland drove one of these. It was quiet and powerful to ride in and it rode along like it was hovering on air. The back seat – where I was most of the time – was large and comfortable and the seats were ever so soft – real leather yet always inviting.
I loved the big white walls and the chrome seemed to shine brighter than other cars.
To put fuel in it the driver side rear light was hinged and swung out to reveal the gas cap. And of course gas about 25 cents a gallon. (That’s 4.5 litres for those of you born after 1975.)
I loved riding in this car and it has remained a sentimental favourite.
