relaxing on our holiday

Well folks I left the country today.  Did you miss me?  I supported Wendy’s cross border shopping addiction and made the leap into the world of miles, inches, gallons, democrats and the 99 cent dollar.   Remember when it was expensive to go south…not any more thanks to the former president (G.W.Bush).  At any rate with a couple of days holidays to take we were off.

Which brings me to my moving story.  When we left Edmonton our stuff came to Ontario in the moving van as usual.  When we got to Toronto we were missing a couple of things which we’ve replaced over time.  Last winter I discovered that there was opportunity to skate over at the local arena – close to THQ – at noon on Fridays.  So I picked up my skates and headed to the rink only to discover that somehow I had two left skates – one not even my size! ( I bet someone else has a similar pair).

So I’ve been wanting to replace them.  Well today was my lucky day!  Dick’s had a good deal and Mrs. Santa was nearby!

And these are the kind they put into the skate oven – yes the skate oven – and then you tie them up and sit for 15 minutes while it moulds to your foot.  He sharpened them as well.  So this Friday I’m back on the ice!
