At the College for Officer Training in the UK, I discovered that the old Mercy Seat is now located in a very small chapel. So I got a couple of good pictures though due to the size of the room I needed to take the photos on an angle to get a good shot.
You’ll note the detail carved into the back of the Mercy Seat – the SA for Salvation Army. These old Mercy Seats are disappearing and where I can I make sure I have a photograph. Are you capturing any?
Tomorrow I hope I’ll have some time to get into the refurbished chapel and take a picture of the current Mercy Seat.
No matter the age however I am always moved by the symbolism and the knowledge that at these places people have knelt and had their lives changed!
