Different Christmas Gifts

Carrie, who works in our office, gave to Wendy and I for Christmas a small book that outlines 432 things to do for yourself and others at Christmas.  I’ve been taking a look through the book and was struck with the number of simple ideas that would make wonderful gifts for others.  So here’s a sample for you to consider.

Some, like the parking space idea, might challenge your desire for personal convenience however give it some consideration!

1. When a family member looks really stressed out, give them a big hug.
2. On Christmas morning, phone some relatives who live far away and wish them a Merry Christmas
3. Let someone else have the parking spot you just found, think of it as a gift to a stranger
4. Go for a walk with someone you love Christmas afternoon
5. Volunteer to do the dishes and help clean up at the end of the Christmas meal
6. Invite a friend who doesn’t have a church home to join you for a special Christmas Service
7. Drop in on a nursing home with 5 cards signed “from Santa” and ask the staff to give them to 5 lonely seniors

So that’s just a sample…thinking about it I can think of other things like looking out for lonely people, making a donation…or just being nice and friendly to others.

So Merry Christmas…try the parking spot give away just once!
